Wrong Color Title? Fix It Fast..

Reading Time: 4 minutes

Ever had the perfect title for your scrapbook page—only to realize the color is completely wrong?

Yep, me too. 🙋‍♀️

This week I was working with the Make A Memory Kit, creating a layout that had all the right feels… until I reached for the title sticker. It was the exact phrase I wanted, but the color? Not even close.

I almost scrapped the idea (pun intended). But then it hit me—what if I could change the color without ruining the sticker?

Spoiler alert: I did. And it was SO easy.

Fast, Simple Fix: Use Stampin’ Blends

My go-to solution? Stampin’ Blends markers.

These alcohol-based markers are smooth, fast-drying, and don’t warp or bubble sticker material. I just colored right over the sticker, let it dry (which took seconds), and BOOM—the title matched my layout like it was meant to be there all along.

Why Stampin’ Blends Work So Well:

  • They’re alcohol-based, so they dry fast and don’t smear
  • They glide on smoothly—even over paper sticker surfaces
  • No peeling, no bubbling, and no waiting around
  • You can layer colors or blend for custom shades

I used a Stampin’ Blend that coordinated perfectly with my page colors, and suddenly… that title sticker looked custom made.

About the Make A Memory Kit

If you haven’t used this kit yet, you’re missing out! The Make A Memory Kit is one of my favorites for fast, beautiful single-page scrapbook layouts, but you can also turn them into DOUBLE- page layouts, too. That’s what I’m currently doing. Whether you’re new to memory keeping or a seasoned storyteller, this kit makes it easy to document your moments with style and heart.

Kit Highlights:

  • 12 pre-designed single-page layout templates
  • Coordinated punch out tags and embellishments
  • Easy-to-use adhesive backed titles and leaves
  • Designed for speed and story-first scrapbooking

I love using this kit at crops and with new scrapbookers because it takes the guesswork out of creating a cohesive page—but still gives you room to personalize.

What to Do When Your Stash Almost Works

If you’ve ever pulled out your stickers or titles and found one that was just right—except for the color—don’t toss it aside. Just give it a little color magic with your markers.

A Few Tips:

  • Test first: Use a corner of the sticker sheet to test your color.
  • Blend lightly: One layer is usually enough—but you can go back and blend if needed.
  • Use a light touch: Let the marker do the work. No need to press hard.
  • Coordinate: Pick a marker that pulls a color from your layout—this ties the whole page together beautifully.

Scrapbooking Is About Solutions

This layout reminded me why I love scrapbooking—it’s creative, personal, and sometimes a little imperfect.

We all run into hiccups in the process (wrong colors, missing embellishments, off-size photos), but the key is to find small, smart fixes that keep the story moving forward.

So next time your title isn’t quite right? Don’t ditch it. Just color it in. 😉
