If you’ve ever scrapbooked a Disney vacation, you know how tempting all of the official Disney scrapbook products can be.
They’re adorable…
They’re fun…
And they can also be pricey.
The good news?
You don’t need Disney-branded paper to create scrapbook layouts that instantly feel magical.

In this week’s Friday Freebie Sketch #28, I’m sharing one of my favorite tricks for creating a Disney-inspired scrapbook layout using products you may already have in your craft room.
The Secret? Color.
For this layout, I used Stampin’ Up!’s Brights Painted Patterns Designer Series Paper in Poppy Parade, Daffodil Delight, and Basic Black.
Those bold colors immediately create a classic Disney feel without using a single licensed Disney product.
Sometimes it’s not about the images on the paper…
It’s about choosing colors that remind you of the memories you’re preserving.
What You’ll Learn in This Video
In this week’s tutorial, I’ll walk you through:
- How to transform a simple two-page sketch into a Disney-inspired layout
- Why patterned paper can completely change the feel of a sketch
- Tips for creating eye-catching visual clusters using the Balloon Festoon Bundle
- A unique title idea that adds personality to your pages
- How I use the Stampin’ Up! Cut & Emboss Machine to make assembling everything quick and easy
Even if you’re not documenting a Disney vacation, these same design principles work for birthday parties, celebrations, carnivals, amusement parks, and any bright, colorful adventure.

Why I Love Scrapbook Sketches
One of the biggest challenges scrapbookers tell me they face is simply figuring out where to begin.
A sketch removes that overwhelm.
Instead of staring at a blank 12″ x 12″ page wondering where everything should go, you can focus on the fun part—telling your story.
The best part?
The same sketch can look completely different just by changing the papers, colors, embellishments, and photos.
That’s exactly what I did with this Disney-inspired layout.
