When you think of card kits, you probably think of quick, handmade cards that brighten someone’s day. But what if I told you those same beautiful pieces could become the foundation for a gorgeous scrapbook layout?
This week’s Friday Freebie Sketch #17 shows you exactly how I took the Everyday Beauty Card Kit from Stampin’ Up! and reimagined it into a 12×12 scrapbook page that’s full of color, texture, and creative possibilities.

Card Kits Aren’t Just for Sending Happy Mail
One of the things I love most about Stampin’ Up!’s kits is how versatile they are. Whether you’re a card maker, scrapbooker, or both (🙋♀️ that’s me!), these kits give you coordinated colors, die-cuts, and sentiments that are ready to go — no overthinking required.
For this week’s sketch, I wanted to challenge myself to see just how far one card kit could go. I started by pulling apart the Everyday Beauty Card Kit, trimming a few of the card fronts into panels and banners, and using the leftover die-cuts as page accents. Think visual triangles.
The result?
A cohesive, layered scrapbook layout that came together in minutes — no Designer Series Paper or fancy tools required!

Tips for Turning Card Kits into Scrapbook Magic
Want to try this idea with your other kits? Here are a few quick tips:
- Cut your card bases into photo mats or journaling blocks.
- Layer die-cuts on top of your photos for instant dimension.
- Use leftover labels for dates, short phrases, or mini titles.
- Pop up sentiments with Dimensionals to create visual texture.
- Add Flip Flaps to hide hidden journaling, add more PHOTOS and voilà!
You’ll be amazed how quickly a “card” becomes a layout that tells a bigger story.
